Funny Valentines

So check out my sweet little valentines! How awesome is it that A). My son will wear a pink shirt and B). I found a heart dress in a bag of girls clothing......the whole bag was ten bucks. Big shout out to Craigs list.
We survived this oh so pink holiday without a hitch. Normally I go all out with a pink everything breakfast including decorations. However, working the night before delayed the breakfast to dinner time, but pink pancakes and eggs were still had! Jaxson worked so hard to complete his valentines for class but man it was a challenge. I had to keep telling him if he wanted them he needed to finish them. " But mom my teacher said you need to do it." HAAAA yeah boy I did not just fall off the turnip truck. It is amusing what my son thinks I should do for him. He came home wearing a "love bug" hat and said "MOM....guess what I am?" "ummm....a love bug?" Well he was shocked that I knew what a love bug was and kept talking about how smart I am. I will be very sad the day he is no longer impressed with my knowledge! He has a way of making me feel good about myself.
And now for little Nostalgia:
The older I get the more I seem to reflect on the happenings of my childhood. With each holiday my thoughts are consumed with past memories of the awesome times my mom st rived to create. With two kids of my own I also want to create special lasting memories. I would like them to grow up remembering something other than Christmas.
My mom rocks basically. On ground hogs day we would have a spaghetti dinner on the floor that she required us to eat with our hands behind our backs. It was so fun, messy and a lasting memory. For valentines day we always had some little trinket waiting on the table for us. It always made me feel special. I strive to live up to her example.

  2. I know what you mean about trying to keep other traditions besides Christmas memorable. I just totally flopped this year. (Hey, 6 weeks to D-day I'm allowed to slack off, right?) Love the blog and can't wait to see more of Jaxon again! We miss you and love that we can keep in touch through blogs!
