Behold these little ones

~I figure it is time that get all the uniqueness / shenanigans that enrich my life documented~

~Jaxson~

  • Currently in the 1st grade with Mrs. Abeyta. Much like his mom, he loves all things math and science and would rather poke his eyes out than practice spelling or reading. (Though I would never admit it to his face.....I can't blame the kid! English is one crazy language).

  • Jaxson is a great example of pure love. He is a very gentle soul who is always expressing his love to others. He is so gentle with his sister. I cannot count the times I have found her beating up on him and he is just standing there taking it. (He must get that from the Packard side because I KNOW that is not a Curtis trait)

(Blurry proof of his Kung Pow style sister)

  • He is VERY creative and loves to rummage through my craft room to find ways to make the trash he finds into personal treasures. I love to see his creativity in action. The one draw back is that he overfills the house with these precious treasures and refuses to depart with them. (My fridge and window seal can only hold so much!)

(This is a little love note that says "I am glad that you are my mom!!!")

  • Jaxson recently had an experience with prayer that was beautiful. Jaxson came home on the bus instead to going to the after school Latchkey program. He had forgotten that this day was a Latchkey day, Andrew and I were both at work. He came inside and when he was unable to find me, he looked at the calendar and realised his error.  He said his first reaction was to be scared and then he decided that he should pray. After his prayer he decided to go sit in the front yard with his backpack and coat still on. Our neighbor who was driving by stopped to see how he was doing. She felt prompted to do so. Then, after a tear filled story she gave Jaxson a hug and took him back to school. (Andrew and I shed a few tears over this for many reasons. I am thankful for a Father in Heaven who cares enough to watch over me and my loved ones.)
  • Recently, I discovered that Jaxson has been taking his Book of Mormon to school to show the kids pictures of Jesus.
  •
  • Jaxson loves money! How perfect to have a father who is around it all day. Andrew has brought home several interesting pieces of dinero. Jaxson loves his collection.

$5 from 1934
$2 from 1928

Silver dollar
Susan B dollar
Canadian $2 coins
50 cent piece

Jaxson loves to shake the 50 cent piece (he has named The Bully) and spin it in order to knock the other coins off the table. Yes, that is a little sister who must always be in on what Jaxson is doing. I love how he just lets her.

The funny things he says:

After saying the nightly prayer for Santa to bring lots of awesome presents Jaxson exclaimed....."You know I would really like it if we had steak at daycare! but we don't" (2010)

After getting a church magazine in the mailbox Jaxson exclaimed....."Mom I think we got some mail from Jesus!" (2011)

"Mom did you know that boys grow hair everywhere?" "oh really? and how do you know that?" "because I saw uncle Shane Alan Curtis take off his shirt and change to another, and man it was hairy!"

" Mom! Don't squat like that it might make the baby fall out." (To me while struggling to get my shoe on.)

"Bless me to be able to read more scriptures so that I can become the prophet. Bless those who are climbing rocks and driving." (while praying)

"Mom, I want to name the baby Alasha. I was looking at your eyebrows and noticed your eyelashes. Then I thought.....a-lashes....then I thought A-lash-a."

~Emilee~

Remember this little girl?

 well......

She is growing like a weed!

She loves to eat spaghetti, chocolate covered almonds and yogurt. She also knows that the bigger the mess she makes the longer time she gets to spend in her favorite place.....the bathtub.

SHOES! I LOVE SHOES!

Never does she leave the hair in!

These two cannot be separated. The love is mutual. Apples are our favorite after school munchies.

I love the time at home with this little girl. She is the complete opposite of her brother so watching her explore and learn is an adventure.

She is the queen of trying on clothing. She loves socks, shirts, underwear, anything really. Also, one of her new favorite past times is taking her baby doll and shoving into small spaces. Then, giving me the baby and blanket to swaddle up.

"Matchmaker, matchmaker!" (She makes more messes then she cleans up)

This girl LOVES animals! Lilly cat is her absolute favorite.

Her words:
