If you cant beat em....JOIN em!

Getting the children to participate in chores has been a continual struggle around these parts. Day after day it feels that we continue to have the same struggles without progress. After a few heart to hearts with my mother and sister, my creative juices began to flow. I decided to make photo booklets with pictures of the girls doing their chores. I purchased the photo booklets from the dollar store and when all was said and done this project was less than $5.

Each girl has their own booklet with personalized photos.

These photo books have been awesome because they have allowed the girls some autonomy with their chores. Meaning they can choose the chore order, what clothes they wear, if they would like to assist one another etc.

I also thought that they just looked adorable in these pictures. Both of the girls really got in to the process of creating these books.

Too cute! What a sweet moment in time.

The picture below is not actually in the book but this is the Penny pose when she is procrastinating picking up toys whilst her brother and sister continue to work. She hopes that sweet smile will distract you.

There was something special in this photo that they were doing with their arms but neither Andrew not I can seem to remember what.

One snag in the photos has to do with the following, we show both girls feeding Reggie. I thought that the general representation of feeding a dog would be enough. They take the photos very literally and there are times of fights and confusion as to who feeds what dog. I suppose a photo update is in order.

These represent listening to their father.

This was to represent being kind to one another.

It was a great way to spend an afternoon and the final product had definitely paid off!
