As it turns out, one of the best things about having a two week break from school is catching up on long overdue blog posts!
The following is documentation of a very fun family trip during our Easter 2014 vacation to Oceanside Beach, Oregon.
We stayed at a beautiful little townhouse with this stunning view out the window.
Our fist item of business was to break out the hot cocoa....unless you were Andrew and then you would breakout a squirt. These Packard kiddos are CRAZY about hot cocoa.
Little babies that can't have hot cocoa eat cereal and hang out with doggies!
We had a blast making Easter decorations for our weekend home. Emilee loves to color and get her picture taken.
Sometimes it can be hard to keep ones eyes open when the camera flashes. The struggle is real!
Jaxson concentrates with his mouth open .... just like his mama!
Penny Lou had fun crawling around and exploring. She was much too cool for the crafting activities.
Meanwhile Andrew was creating in his favorite space....the kitchen!
I was super impressed with Jaxsons creatively. Who knew he was going to get all three dimensional on us?
I love the face of concentration. I also love that you can see Penny and Andrew in the background just doing their thing.
These two are such good friends.
Here are the final creations. I made the PennyLou sign, Emilee the egg and the other two are from Jaxson. I love craft time! I love that my kids love craft time!
And then there was grandpa Reggie... just hanging out on his favorite blanket.
After geting setteled, Andrew and Jaxson braved the elements to go exploring on the beach. I look this photo from SO far away. Super love it!
Another beautiful shot.
Such beautiful scenery for family fun time!
There were so many beautiful flowers blooming! I decided to take some pictures for my mother.
She loves flowers.
The picture above is my favorite.
Oregon is beautiful.
Game time was an adventure in sharing and being kind to one another.
Meanwhile, Penny Lou continues to just chill.
The kids were more than excited to color eggs.
This was an adventure in reading directions and listening!
Emilee was SO excited she was literally on the edge of her seat.
At this moment Andrew was trying explain to Emilee that she could not just throw the the egg in the cup. Immediately followed by her throwing the egg in the cup. I suspect next year we will be slightly more successful.
Emilee eventually got bored with all of the rules and began playing with dominoes.
Not bad for a hard days work.
Just striking a pose! .
LouLou spent most of her time roaming around with an apple.
I just LOVE all of these faces.
Bella is the best little cuddle friend.
The anticipated event of making smores by the fire was definitely a hilarious ordeal.
I highly underestimated the complications that could come with starting a fire. We could never really get this bad boy going....
....but we tried to roast mallows anyways. That was a failure.
So I thought...Hey, why not use a candle. Yeah, epic failure. Warning this method will make said marshmallow taste like flavored candle wax!! BLEK!
So we settled on the old fashioned microwave. SCORE! Look at that perfection. Fire pits are so 100 years ago!
Microwave mallows make just as big of a mess at fire mallows.
#FACT
First thing Easter morning, these two were up and getting cozy with some chocolate.
We had a fun time looking for eggs inside the house.
Rain + an egg hunt= awww heck no!
LouLou had fun looking for eggs while eating a graham cracker.
Just before leaving we got some great shots of our sweet kiddos!
I can't believe how much they have grown!
~HAPPY EASTER~
